FDB Møbler

The FDB Joint Undertaking was established with the aim of ensuring members affordable prices for food.

In the early 1940s, FDB employed some young brave furniture architects to develop beautiful, functional furniture at attractive prices. The establishment of FDB Furniture was a demonstration that quality furniture was not only reserved for the most prosperous in society. Good furniture design and high quality were thus popularized.

FDB Furniture had its majesty from the 1950s until the 1970s, but did not copy the flow of time, where new mass-produced collective-yourself furniture took the market.

Coop currently owns FDB Furniture, but this has not always been the case. FDB's furniture factory has for many years been the author of several furniture classics, which today decorate homes throughout Denmark. The factory closed in 1980, but in 2013, Coop relocated a number of the old classics, and we are well-liked to relocate for Denmark's most beautiful comeback. In addition to well-known and beloved furniture designed by, amongst others, Børge Mogensen and Poul M. Volther, Coop's furniture concept will offer brand new designs that bring FDB furniture up to the present ... and beyond into the future, with respect for the past DNA.

Today, consumers are ready to rediscover FDB Furniture. You do not care anymore the impersonal and mass-produced furniture. In addition to reviving the old classics, new models will be developed based on the same norms and values. FDB Furniture forms the framework for the good gathering, where close family values and a democratic community are in focus - today like that.
